TMNT Road Riot is a racing game which offers over a half-dozen vehicles, three courses, and the ability to play in time trial or tournament mode against the computer. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.
Starting the Game- Wait for the game to load then click anywhere on the screen to bring up the game menu.
- The game menu provides three game options: Quick Race, Tournament or Free Spin.
- Quick Race is a race against two randomly-selected opponents.
- Tournament is a multi-round competition where you can unlock further options.
- Free Spin is a solo race against the clock.
- After you’ve selected a game option, you choose your level Easy, Regular or Hard.
- Select a character and vehicle. Each vehicle choice has different characteristics including speed, handling, damage impact and power.
- If you make a mistake with a selection, you can go back to the start menu by clicking the X button.
- If given the option, you can scroll through the different tracks by clicking the left or right arrows.
- Click the green check box to select an option.
Game Controls- Keyboard
- The game controls are shown on the final menu option before the game starts. To accelerate, press the up arrow key. To turn, press the right and left arrow keys. To brake, hit the down arrow key.
- To fire sewer lids at opponents, press the spacebar. You can fire sewer lids to slow opponents down.
- The last menu screen shows you the tokens and the shield you should collect. It also shows the insects you should avoid.
- When you’re ready to go, hit the red check mark.
- If you need to pause mid-game, press the red pause button on the top right. The game pause menu also features a help button, a sound control button and a quit button.
- At the end of each level, the game will reset to the start, or progress, depending on the type of game you’ve chosen.
- Touchscreen
- Use your finger to engage with the on screen controls.
Scoring Points- You are racing for a #1 podium finish. Complete three laps faster than your opponents to win.
- You can also gain points by picking up coins along the way. Run over them to pick them up.
- Best previous game times are shown at the beginning of each track option.
Strategy- Work out the optimal racing lines through corners and memorize the tracks. Positioning yourself well on each corner and avoiding crashing are the keys to winning this game.
- Fire sewer lids at opponents to temporarily disable them. You can collect these lids, shown as blue circles, as you circle the track. Your opponents can use these lids too, so avoid travelling in straight lines when an opponent is close to you. It will be harder for them to hit you with a lid if you are zig zagging.
- Avoid the insects. These make it difficult to see the track as they splatter beneath your wheels.
- Shields protect you from attacks and some obstacles. These shields are especially useful in a tight race, but of limited value if you’re way out ahead. Try to stick to the fastest lines if you are out in front rather than diverting to pick up shields. If you can maintain the optimal racing lines and pick up the shields, then great!
- Obstacles will slow you down or send you spinning off course. Memorize the best racing lines to avoid the obstacles. You might also be able to bump your opponent off into an obstacle to slow them down.
- If you’re a beginner, it’s a good tactic to select a vehicle with superior handling characteristics, at least until you’re comfortable with the track layout. This handling characteristic is indicated by the steering wheel gauge on the vehicle selection menus. Tight turns at speed can be challenging on unfamiliar tracks.
